Profile picture of Rhiannon Mapson

I’m Rhiannon Mapson, a senior product designer with 10+ years of experience designing thoughtful, user-first experiences across fintech, health, ecommerce, and SaaS products.

I’ve led design for Saas startups, contributed at scale in larger teams, and collaborated across time zones from Australia, to Canada, and to France. (France was more croissants 🥐 than career, but it definitely shaped my eye for detail.)

I’m Australian-based and thrive in teams where design is strategic, collaboration runs deep, and good ideas can come from anywhere. Whether it’s launching zero-to-one products or untangling legacy UX, I bring a calm, curious mindset to solving complex problems, and I care deeply about the craft.

Leading design for a fintech startup focused on bridging the gap between small businesses and their worth.

Shaping a 0-to-1 SaaS platform with deep user research that saved brokers over 500 hours of work per year.

I’ve worked with 10+ companies on over 30+ projects

2022 - 2025

Senior Product Designer

Levr.ai

I joined Levr.ai as the founding designer and helped lead design for a zero-to-one SaaS platform simplifying business funding. I focused on product strategy, user research, and end-to-end UX by turning complex financial workflows into simple, trusted experiences that attracted 30,000+ users and supported a $14M+ valuation.

In a fast-paced, venture-backed environment, I prioritized clarity and speed, building scalable design systems, streamlining team workflows, and accelerating delivery through close collaboration with engineering and leadership. I helped shape not just the product, but the internal processes behind it.

My work consistently delivered real outcomes: higher adoption, user advocacy, and better business performance. This role sharpened my product instincts, deepened my user-first mindset, and strengthened my ability to design SaaS experiences that drive meaningful growth.

2018 - 2022

Senior > Lead UX Designer

Eviviz

I moved from senior to lead designer in this role, working closely with clients and developers to shape intuitive, responsive websites across industries; from pharma and media to non-profits and e-commerce. I took projects from idea to launch, making sure the UX held up through every phase. Along the way, I led design reviews, tightened up design/dev collaboration, and introduced improvements like UX audits and better mobile UX that boosted retention.

This role gave me exposure to fast-paced agency work and taught me how to influence projects from the ground up. Working closely with clients, I helped shape briefs into the right problems to solve. Not just what they asked for, but what they really needed. It was hands-on, full-spectrum work that strengthened my ability to lead projects with confidence, guide decisions, and deliver meaningful outcomes.

2017 - 2018

UX Designer

Spintech IT

I worked closely with a handful of long-term clients, building trusted relationships that allowed me to influence their digital presence over time. Rather than jumping between projects, I was embedded in each client’s journey, helping them define goals, shape strategy, and design user experiences that evolved with their needs.

By being involved from the earliest stages, I was able to guide decisions, introduce UX thinking where it hadn’t existed before, and create solutions that balanced user needs with business priorities.

2016

Project Coordinator

Ledcor

Although not design-focused, this role strengthened my skills in project coordination, stakeholder management, and communication. I led negotiations, managed legal documentation, and presented to decision-makers on behalf of Ledcore. This experience now supports how I lead teams, align stakeholders, and navigate complex product environments with confidence.

2011 - 2015

UX Designer

Freelance

As a freelance UX and web designer, I worked with a range of small businesses to design and launch responsive websites that elevated their digital presence. Projects spanned industries like interior design and wellness, and typically involved end-to-end design, from early strategy and goal-setting to build, launch, and refinement. I collaborated directly with clients to align business objectives with user needs, improve mobile UX, and implement SEO and branding strategies that boosted engagement and retention.

Working across every part of the process pushed me to grow quickly, sharpen my instincts, and become comfortable making decisions and owning outcomes. It helped me bridge the gap between university training and the standards expected in industry.
